Fortuner Suspension
Hey guys.
I'm looking at buying something else and I came across a 2006 Toyota Fortuner 3.0D4D 4x4.But I have heard that they have a 'Falling' over issue that can be rectified by suspension upgrades!According to the Dealer/Stealer it has been fitted with Ironman Shocks and Springs and been lifted.Anyone think that this 'Mod' will fix the problem or should I rather not buy?I'm happy with my Hilux 3.0 D4D but I think that I would like to move over to Fortuner but don't want to spend 350-400k this early in the year.

Re: Fortuner Suspension
Nothing wrong with IronMan setup, just have have it checked! They might have fitted it in 2006 and the shocks might be worn!
If the case, also have a look at AmadaExtreme
Good A/T tire also goes a long way!!!

I've got a 2006 Fortuner and its as steady as a train on rails - on and off road! We just came back from a 3500 trip toured all the back roads in the Transkei and never felt unstable!
The mail issue on the older Fortuner is the quality of the shocks, the standard shocks are just to weak to keep the wheels on the ground, I have played with mine and found a 100% improvement after I've fitted the AmadaXtreme shocks.
The AmadaXtreme Suspension are truly great and also affordable!
Let me know when you ready I've supplied a load of guys on the Fortuner forum & extremely happy with the performance of the AmadaXtreme products!

Re: Fortuner Suspension
And if it has those General Grabber tyres get a new set of something else.
My brother has the first release Tuna and changed only the tyres and has had no issues.
I would go for it if you are happy with the deal!
Also look at those, I think, HDP Gabriel 4x4 shocks, they are getting many good reviews and they go for a good price too

Re: Fortuner Suspension
Het shocks gekry by Cobus van Amada, wel gekoop. My versoek was om standard te bly so hy het my standard lengtes voorsien, sport vir voor en comfort vir agter. Regtig 'n groot verskil. Hop nie meer die hele pad vol met gat swaai nie.

Re: Fortuner Suspension
Have just had AmadaXtreme fitted to my 4.0 V6 Fortuner today. Have not had a chance to test yet (except for the speed bump outside the office) but I have already noticed that it seems to have less "body roll" despite the fact that it has given quite a bit of lift; actually more than I anticipated.
A par 3 stroke 1 might need a step ladder to get in :)
