Hi All
I have a D-4D 2.5 Turbo. My tank was half full yesterday and I filled it at a station then about an hour later of driving I noticed the fuel light was warning (steady not blinking ... if it blinks before it goes steady then I missed the blinking).
The instructions on the sun visor said a steady light means "Fuel System Abnormal" and it should go into the dealer.
The Toyota Dealer is giving me a headache as I did not buy vehicle from him.
I suspect water in diesel.
What can I do to get water out and light to go off.
Thanks a million in advance
Kiggs

Jy het 'n vuil dieselfilter. Gaan an enige Toyota agenstakp en laat vervang....so R140 en einde van die probleem.

"You have a dirty diesel filter. Go to any Toyota Dealer and change it. About R140 (SA Currency) and then end of the problem."

Eric,
Thanks for the translation
Spook thanks for the answer.
Yes it was water. Changed the filter and got the water removed (got new original filter from dealer)
But the light is still on even though there is no more water in the system (have checked repeatedly)
How can I get the light to go off / reset?
Tried taking off the battery and putting it back on and it did not work

Hello Eric and Spook
I found the answer
Its at the bottom of this link
http://www.4x4community.co.za/forum/sho ... hp?t=22955
Even has a set of 4 PDF's showing how to change the Fuel Filter of the D-4D and how to reset the sensor.
Thanks
