Porche's EV coming up

Post by pietpetoors »

Porche is working on a 4 wheel drive EV, one motor per wheel and also 4 wheel steering.

Porsche is busy preparing a battery-powered rival to the successful all-electric Tesla Model S - and CAR has details of this project, provisionally badged the Porsche 717.

It’s being developed on the Volkswagen group’s latest MSB architecture under development for the Panamera Mk2 and the next Bentley Continental.

If all goes according to plan, we can expect a sporty four-door, four-seater with clear 911 overtones, wrapped in a more compact footprint than a Panamera’s. Our artist’s impression above shows the kind of direction being explored by Porsche’s design department, according to our sources. Sounds like the 911 cookie cutter hasn’t run out yet…
The 717 will have one electric motor per axle, with either steel springs or an electrically-controlled air suspension system, and will feature 4WD, four-wheel torque vectoring and four-wheel steering.

According to “an insider,” the engineering concept calls for three different power options, rated at 400, 500 and 600 bhp, and a range target of over 300 miles.

Engineering design might be great, but I'm not too sure about the retro styling. Still prefer the Tesla. ;-)
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

Just read this snippet ....

"Tesla Model S orders skyrocket
Three days after orders opened for Elon Musk's new electric vehicle, and demand is already exceeding planned supply. Despite being available only late next year, 276,000 pre-orders worldwide for the Tesla Model S streamed in. At $35,000 for a car that will make you kiss fossil fuels goodbye, it's easy to understand why."

Daar's groot verandering oppad.
If you still have blank pages in your passport, it's probably time for a road trip.

Onthou ook, Elon Musk het sy eerste reeks patente oorhandig aan die wereld mark om volumes te boosts.

Hy weet sy nuwe patente is reeds ver beter, hy soek n wereld met grootter aanvraag vir elektriese voertuie.
