Onrus River / Hermanus - estate attorney
Few seconds on google and I have more than 16 legal firms in the area ...
I guess I could phone each firm and ask if they are reliable/honest/affordable .... yea right ...
We are looking for a legal professional to assist my aunt with the estate of my late uncle. House transferred to wife, bit of money to the kids. Cant see why the banks want close to 100k for this !!
Doing it herself is NOT an option ! Dont want to get into the details, but she MUST hand this over to legal professionals.
Any references would be appreciated.
PS ... I see a thread coming about "good intentions" and a practical last will and wishes ....

Re: Onrus River / Hermanus - estate attorney
Sorry, but we all have preconceived ideas about what "professionals" should charge... "how can the plumber/electrician/carpenter/painter/whatever charge THAT MUCH????"
So your problem is not necessarily the amount charged for the work, but to be sure that what is to be done is done properly, speedily and professionally... some seemingly straightforward looking estates really turn out a huge pain in the but, and a massive amount of really schlepp-work, mostly because of stuff the deceased never considered...
So ask around, at the court and the banks, because they get to deal with executors. M2CW.

true ... I am also a professional, selling my time. So I DO understand what you are saying. But in our trade we either charge "per hour" or on a "fee scale" - which ever is LESS for the client.warthog wrote:Sorry, but we all have preconceived ideas about what "professionals" should charge... either way, THIS is what this thread is about - finding a reference to a professional in the area that has good references.

See if you can find Marietjie Chin, we did the Hermanus map for her some years back and she seemed like an "honest"attorney.
