We're a bit far apart and you guys miss out on our GTG's because of the travelling distances, so we've decided to bring the party to you. The planned dates are the weekend of the 25th / 26th / 27th Sept.

We do however need a bit of help from you PE guys to find a suitable venue near Addo. The plan so far is that we travel down on the Friday, on Saturday do a trail with the PE guys that are interested and have a lekker afternoon / evening kuier / braai. We will do a drive through the park on the Sunday and you guys are welcome to join in there as well. Edge says that there's a farm very close to Addo that has camping and Chalet accommodation as well as a 4x4 trail, but cannot remember what it's called. Does anyone know. Other trail / accommodation options are open to suggestion.

Let's hear from you. ;-)

Slagboom 4x4 is near Addo. Not sure if they still do trails. I heard from someone or read on another forum that they don't do trails anymore. A nice 4x4 route is Meadows 4x4 at Elandsrivier. Done the trail twice with my SFA. Owner is George Whitehead, he takes the Land Rover guys (new owners) through that course on 4x4 training.

The Meadows might be a bit far from Addo (we would prefer something closer so that we can go through the park on the Sunday).

Slagboom is indeed closed, both for accommodation and the trail - pity, looked like it would have been ideal.

There is a grade 4 route within the park itself, but could be on the pricey side with costs; R455 per vehicle and daily entrance fee of R54 per adult.

Will keep looking at options.

Would love to join. Im still modifying my Jimny a bit to make it offroad ready! So will regretfully decline this time around. There is also a nice mountain trail in Kirkwood. I know the round table normally organises these trips. They had one in 2013 which was lovely. Also over the exact same period. Contact is Francois(i dont know him) 0824915900. Maybe there is something on this year.

OK, maybe it's bad timing or something, but since time is marching on, we will postpone this event for a later stage and switch with one of the other outings we have planned that's closer to home for us (no sense in us trekking all the way down there and not having some PE guys joining us). :eh:

Make no mistake though, we will be reviving this thread again in the not-too-distant future. :D:

Noted Andy, I will speak to Wade about the drive over the mountains in the Stutt forrests...

Could you please get a quote from Neil for Wade (Third Geer) for a Dash Cover and Tranny Cover for his SFA Hilux. PM Tony (First Geer) with the amount and a/c no in which the money can be deposited as I do not have the PM facility & Wade does not have a computer to email him directly.
Thanks Andy/Neil...

Hi Chris, read 7 posts back ...... we were not getting any PE guys joining us and since this was the idea behind going down there, we will re-schedule that event to some other later time. Sorry that we will miss you. :(
