Lexus conversion time frames....

Post by Hilux Pilot »

Hi guys...

I know this May seem a somewhat trivial pondering....but from my own experience, I am very keen to see how long this conversion has taken for you guys....let's do two time frames her, one for self performed in part time, and one for "pro" done.....notice the inverted commas....

Let the fun begin!

I have put my 2,8D DC 4X2 Lexus v8 back on the road last weekend.

I have only had evenings after work, and some weekends to do this conversion. It has spent 7 days at the exhaust shop, and i went away for the easter weekend,so i could not do work on my bakkie.

It took me 7 weeks from pulling the 2,8D out and have the v8 on testing last Saturday 2016/05/07.

I still have some refining to do, i still dont have speedo and a dashboard to speak of, and i have to tidy up some wiring.

I had a Lextreme pre-wired unit(1uz VVTi) on a stand in my garage for a couple of months. So i did all my preperations before i pulled out my diesel lump...
