I was seriously looking at the 7MGE but have decided to go with the 3RZ due to space, weight & overheating concerns. Can anyone who has gone with a 3RZ transplant advise me on which bell housing, starter, clutch & radiator is used? I currently have the 22R standard setup.
Thanks

Have you already bought the motor?
What did it cost you, or do you know how much they go for?
What electronics will you use?

As far as the transplant goes, it is a relative easy conversion. However the Radiator has to be upgraded, I know of a few people using the standard radiator but upgraded it to a 3 core HD Diesel type radiator to keep the 2.7 Cool. The starter would be the one from the 2.7, and IIRC the bellhousing of the standard Hilux can be used!!.

Re: 2.7i transplant into a SFA
I was anticipating the radiator upgrade & plan go with an aluminium unit from a BMW to be on the safe side. Suppose the standard clutch from the 2.7i will be better than the 22R clutch?
I'll be running it off a Diktator.
Still shopping around for the motor. The prices range from einah to ridiculous - any reccommendations in the Cape Town area?
