SECURING HOOKS FOR EXTD/DOUBLE CAB

Post by Alex2539 »

Hi there

My previous vehicle was a single cab with proper hooks for securing load so i got used to that.. now i drive an extended cab and i am having difficulties as there are only 4 hooks all round. What alternatives( products) apart from the trallies/canopy ?

Thanks

You could fit a couple of cargo rails on the inside of the bin (one on each side). That'll give you adjustable anchor points for your ropes / tie-downs etc. I have them and they work well.

You can get at 4x4Direct at reasonable prices. :winkx:

Great, thanks. Can you upload a picture if you have one? and perhaps a link to the product. Thanks

I fitted these rails into the "grooves" of the load bin and they don't stand proud of the 'ridges', so nothing snags on them when sliding / shifting things about in the bin. The last ones I bought were wider and I couldn't do that with them - they will have to go on the sides.

Or buy these (cheaper) http://www.4x4direct.co.za/606-roof-rac ... -and-rails

And these: http://www.4x4direct.co.za/cargo-tracks ... -bolt.html

And have easy adjustment. I absolutely hate adjusting those cargo track things.
Happy trails

Get the door latches at any scrap dealer (probably free).
Work well, strong and cheap as chips...
