Cold & Hot plug photos

Post by 3RZ »

Here are some photos of the hotter (Standard BKR5EY's) and colder (BCPR7ES's) plugs out of my 2.7 Hilux. The hotter plug is almost the same tan colour all over, the colder plug's earth electrode, center electrode and porcelain isolator is white. The inside of the body is pitch black and sooty.

On the photos the colder plug is the one on the left, the colder plug has only done 500km's, the hotter plug on the right has done 8000km's including two dyno's.

Interestingly the plugs in my wife's Renault looks the same as the colder plugs, but she only do short trips.

Willem why are u using the R Series Cold Plugs :?: :? :problem:

We're (the Bennie EFi Boys) are using the straight BP7ES Colder Plug 8 )

My Plugs are burning a light tan colour after 5000kms ( a shade lighter than your Hotter Plug) and a heck of a lot cleaner than your amber plug

Rich his van does not have have dizzy but runs a multicoil wasted spark set-up so ech coil is connected directly to its plugs without a rotor in-between thus having much less resistance hence the resistive plugs
