Hey Hello
Hey guys Andy here I have finally taken the plunge and bought my first 4X4 a 1989 2.2 Hilux SFA it needed a lot of work but is up and running now (Still need to finish the tailgate). I have done a lot of Off-road on bikes my last one being the KLR 650 a very capable off-road machine but lacks a bit of power. Well now I have my Hilux and we are ready to go play, just one small thing that is bugging me and that is a slight shudder in first, we have done the clutch and it now has a new rear diff and center prop shaft bearing but I think the gearbox mount might be next to be replaced (Any advice here would be great). Anyhow it is a pleasure to be on board with you guys and hope to meet some of the guys soon.
Andy

Hi Andy,
Welcome to the forum!
Please post a few pictures of your Hilux in the member's rides section, we can never get enough pictures of Hiluxes
One of the other guys might be able to give you some advice regarding the shudder, In spite of the clutch having been overhauled, I would still feel that the fault lies there, maybe a bit of oil on the pressure plate or something. But might be engine or gearbox mounts, I suppose.

Re: Hey Hello
Andy I dont know where you are going to get hold of them in Johies, Bra.. Try any good spares/pimp-my-ride shop... :D But dont get the acrylic ones, they fade and get scratched easily. Good luck and let us know if you found them.

Re: Hey Hello
Hi Welcome
I bought a head light and flicker from Wannenburg spaers in PTA a while back and it was dirt cheap, can remember exactly but it was not hundreeds of rands.
Regarding the clutch, you are right the GB mountings may be faulty. Have your suspension been modified? How is the propshaft alignment. After my 7MGE conversion we moved the GB slightly to allow better fitment of the engine and I also had a shudder which came right after the gearbox and propshaft alignment was improved.
