Not too sure I would fly in this

Post by Family_Dog »

... :o:

Yuneec has test flown an electric airplane, which they expect to bring to market for the price of an expensive car: $89,000.

The E430 is a twin seat, single engine, Light Sports Aircraft class airplane designed to be simple to use, easy to fly and with virtually zero vibration. Low noise, no emissions, no fuel, extremely low maintenance and environmentally friendly.
The airplane is made with lightweight composites. The 230-volt powerplant charges in three hours, and can fly for about 2.5 hours on a single charge. The cost of electricity for one charge is only $5, which makes it a low cost way to fly. With only 2 main moving parts in the motor (the bearings) the reliability and low maintenance are like nothing seen before.

I'd love something like that ... flying time and range is perhaps a little too limited though and I would also wonder how well it will handle in windy conditions .... a microlight probably has more range.
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
