Charity Run - Tarlton 25/26 July

Post by Bfreesani »

Hey guys, Nico asked me to post this on the sites where I hang out, and I know the response from the Toyota guys is always amazing. This is a copy and paste of the email that was sent to me....

NISSAN 4 X 4 CLUB

CHARITY RUN : 25/26 JULY 2009

The AAWDC has organised a charity run for the 4 x 4 Clubs to all partake in. The details are as follows:

Organising Club : Landrover Owners Club

Supporting Club : Nissan 4 X 4 Club

Date : 25/26 July 2009

Venue : Tarlton Raceway, West Rand

Program : - No fixed events – more of a “fun day”

- Clubs can recruit members and mingle with others

- There will be a ”Quarter Mile Run” for those with the fast 4 X 4’s (10h00 - 16h00)

- There will be a 4 X 4 route only on the Saturday

- A lucky draw will be held and an “Egoli” star will hand out the prize.

- Club members can bring gas braais along. Those who want to camp can do so.

WHAT MUST THE NISSAN MEMBERS AND FRIENDS DO?

1. Early Saturday morning lay out the 4 X 4 route through the farms to the quarry and back.

2. At the entrance to the Quarry, set up a control point, use Bridgestone banners and charge R50.00 per car entering.

All entrants must sign an indemnity form which we need to still find or develop.

3. Need some “Marshalls”. No points or paperwork, but some observation and recovery. Also to ensure all cars do the route in the same sequence so as to ensure we don’t have crashes. Also to make clear to the participants that no alcohol may be consumed whilst on the track.

WHAT DO WE NEED TO ORGANISE?

- Get helpers and somebody to take control of this day – our Champion. (Liase with Landrover Club).

- Banners droppers and numbers to be put up at Quarry obstacles.

- Marshall vehicle identification (stickers).

- Banners, flags, umbrella, table and chairs for the entrance to the Quarry.

- Gas braais, meat and other refreshments for during the day and the braai on Saturday evening.

- Those sleeping over to bring tents and other camping equipment.

Then the important part !

Donations for charity:

- Clothes

- Blankets

- Money

- Toys

- Tinned food

Please see if you can advertise to all friends, colleagues at work and maybe in your local newsletters. It does not matter what the people drive. This is not only for 4 X 4s – cars and softriders can also visit Tarlton. The 4 X 4 track will only however accommodate 4 X 4s.

Please let us know urgently:

1. Who will co-ordinate the Nissan arrangements for the 25th?

2. Who is willing to set out the route?

3. Who will help with the entrance to the Quarry to collect monies and control?

4. Who is will to act as Marshalls?

5. Who is willing to act as Recovery at the difficult area (Most probably only as Callie se gat)?

6. Who will source the banners, droppers, flags, numbers and stickers for Marshalls?

7. Any other help?

Please people, if we have helpers for each task it will help and make our work lighter.

Would you also ask other clubs or groups to help us in this exercise, so don’t feel shy to volunteer.
