Gents, I know the progress here is a bit slow. But I have the following to report to date. I have found two trails both graded 2-3. I am waiting on the tourism office to provide me with more detail so I can call. I have not yet called the Safari park but will do so tomorrow.
The poll was setup that each person can only vote once so the diff between the total votes and the names on the list is a mystery to me. Must have been people that voted that is not sure if they will go or just voted for the hell of it. I have abought an hour to spare tomorrow so will do the calling then and post the feedback.

Spoke to Derksen (Safari Park) and he will let me know what he can organize re: 4x4 in the area. We also discussed a forum price if we "fully book the venue". There is formal accommodation for around 40/45 people and there is a lawn area for camping. He will come back to me with more detail during next week. I will keep you posted. :D

Well I once met a Lady from Cape Town, she drove all the way up to Queenstown in her vehicle and it was nag nag nag all weekend. I could not take more of it, thus I sent her on her way

Seker nie veel meer as nou nie!

Riaan, yes I spoke to him yesterday and he informed me that there is 4 trails (all unrated) more detail a bit later today. He did give me a figure of R 4000 per night for booking the safari park (only Hilux forum members allowed).
Trail 1 is at the Gariep Dam - but not drivable when the dam is close to 90% or more, full - let that one out as an option for now.
Trail 2 (River Destiny farm) - an 1.5 hour trail and is apparently very technical and going up the hill
Trail 3 (Donker Poort farm) - an 80km or so drive that is moderate
Trail 4 (Hebron Farm) also Technical but that is the only detail he had yesterday as the farm owner is out of the country and will only return in 2/3 weeks from now. The trails will cost around R50 per vehicle.
He will fax me the accommodation details and costs (detailed)......and as soon as I get it I will post it here.
