4 days, 3 rifles = 1 Eland bul, 4 x Gemsbok, 8 Impala and 6 Wharties

Day 1 and this was my first hunt with my own .303 since SAPS decided in May that it was ok for me to have a rifle

These 2 x wharties and 2 x impala eaves were taken all 4 within 45min an amazing afternoon, we couldnt believe our luck. 2 wharties and second eave was mine, Marius (Bruno .308) got the big eave on the side. Three of the 4 were neck shots

One more Whartie for Marius

All and all a great week with friends and family.

Mark, ek en ma sukkel nog om laas jaar se Eland op te eet, so ons het meestal vir pelle gejag. Varkies is vir Salamis

Andre, altyd lekker om tyd in die bosveld te spandeer!

Thanks Andy, I have no complaints about the Lee Enfield .303, must say arguably the rifle that took the most game in Africa in the last century or 2.

Donkey, the meat is what we hunt for, Billies and Droewors

Ja, because there wasn't much else available, or limited supply as by comparison to the a Lee Enfield. Nonetheless, there's a lot of guys out there that still use them ... especially the 'older' blokes. A pretty popular rifle, even by today's standards. I have a .303 but prefer my .308 from an accuracy point of view. Older bro also has a .303 that he still uses from time to time but prefers his 30.06.
