7th July 2012 Extreme 4x4 event... Zone 7
There is an Extreme 4x4 event at Zone 7 where 2 of our club members will be participating.. At present Hoppy is leading in his class... A fun day for the whole family to go and watch our Hilux's in action..... Zone 7 is on the N7 close to the Melkbos turnoff, so a very short drive from Cape Town... All information on the event can be viewed at this link

Re: 7th July 2012 Extreme 4x4 event... Zone 7
Just to whet your appetites a bit more... if I am not mistaken most of the vehicles in Hoppy's class are Rovers so we need to go and support team Hilux... In fact I'm open to correction but think there are only 3 Hilux's that usually participate in the events...

Not sure if we should get a list of Hilux supporters going... I will be away on a trip for this event, and not sure who is going to update the post...
But it would be really great if there were a lot of supporters for team Hilux.... not only does it encourage Hoppy and JP.... but it shows that we are soooo proud of our mean machines...

Another reminder about this event,.... Please show you support for the Hilux team... Not sure if JP will be driving but Allan definitely will be.... Enjoy it...
Allan, sorry I won't be there for the action photographs this time,... but will be thinking of you all, Drive well, as you always do, and show them Rovers once again, what our Hiluxes are capable of...

I am not sure what the results was, sure Hoppy will tell you later.
Because of the rain the track was all muddy and was a great challenge for the drivers.
Allan did great and I cannot wait ot hear the score. Well done Allan! Just a pity they deducted points at one obstacle because he took his vehicle out of 4 wheel drive, which I think is unfair because the guys with the Range Rovers and Discoveries does a similar thing all the time.
Here are some pics.
Check out this modified thingy, is amazing where these things can go

Re: 7th July 2012 Extreme 4x4 event... Zone 7
It was the most difficult one to date, on average we lose about a 100 points out of a posssible 600, yesterday we scored 260 points and three vehicles had 250 points, one of the closest so far, the competition is getting stiffer every event, we are a nice group and although it is mostly Landrovers i compete against, they are supportive and compettitive and we haven't lost the "Fun" part wich to me is the most impotant.
Luxter did a perfect job as a Hilux normaly does, but the driver made some realy stupid mistakes and we had the weather and some unfair judgements against us, but we still won in the end wich is most important, it's 2 out of 2 for he year so far.
I want to thank all the Hilux club members that made the effort to come and support us, even if the weather forecast said 100% rain for the whole day, Pieter came all the way from Langebaan and even helped with the pics, thanks!
We had a lot of support and as usual, there was only three hiluxes entered out of a field of almost 40 vehicles, and two won their class.
We are busyconverting the pics, will load them soon!

Ha Ha, engine Landy eienaar se droom.Daai rover hap so aan daai lux-next time dalk anders om
