Fuel tank manufacturing

Is there anybody that knows of somebody that can make me a custom fuel tank for my SFA?? It has to be strong, correctly coated on the inside and be off road proof!!

I want it to fit in the loadbin between the arches, so its basically a box design tank with a few extras to it.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

I dont know of anyone that can build one But if its just a box type I can do the drawing for you, just send me the measurements....

Or another way around it is...

Go to Outdoor Warehouse and get the RED fuel tank and mount it in th load bin...
The tanks are SABS approved or else they would not be able to sell them....

THe one's @ ODW is to small!! They hold 50L on average and I want 120L Capacity.

Hell where are you planning to go to with that amount of fuel??

Ok send me the measurements and ill draw up something for you to take to someone to get it made.....
I would just go to a stainless steel manufacturing company and ask them to built it and just presure test it.....
A tank with a simple filler cap and a pipe into the original tank for gravity feed with a shut off ball valve so it doesn't over fill the original tank should do the trick.....

Remember to divide the tank into smaller "compartments" to avoid the fuel moving from side to side when turning and off roading.

I will do so..... Splash plates.....
But its not soooo bad seeing as the tank will only need to be 800mm x 100mm x 160mm that should give you 128Ltrs..... If im not mistaken...

Thanks Johno will take the measurements on Sunday and then send you it. Just pm me your email please.. I'm planning on doing a very long Trip into Kaokoveld next year and maybe do a few exploration trips in Lesotho but will still see.

Looking for 200L fuel capacity fully filled up, should give me roughly 1400 km range fully loaded. Looking to go away for long times on very remote tracks with little or no fuel available.

I dont know how well the tank will allow you to travel with a gravity feed permantly open as the fuel may overflow from the main tank filler....
But if you put a ball valve inline then all you need to do is open it to allow the LR tank to fill up the main tank, then shut off the ball valve to prevent spillage....

If that will work for you then my design will work fine....

Im looking for a tank almost like what you have got there, but I dont wanna connect it up to the main fuel tank as I will be filling it via a low pressure fuel pump via the original fuel cap, ie almost like shiponing it into the main tank. So it will have to have the ball valve connected up to a solid fuel line with the pump fitted (ie low pressure faccet or similar) and then have a removable clip on/of fuel hose of about 1.5M that will be coupled up when needing to transfer to the main tank.

Main tank should give me about 500 km's on the openroad and about 400 km's off road which equates into more than a days travelling at 250 km's per day off road.

Then that tank will work perfectly....
Once you send me the measurements i will change the design to fit your bakkie and then you just got to get someone to make it up for you...
