Well done and thanks for sharing. With such experience at least now you can make a back-up team for when the municipality workers go on strike in the CBD, next time

Re: Trekoskraal Clean-up - 25-27 Jan 2013
In Tuesdays Burger there was an article on Trekoskraal basically stating thatbTrekos is a better place to camp than Tietiesbaai. I was amazed that this was published, as Trekos is private property with no ablusions and facilities. From what I have seen there, the situation can only get worse with lotsnmore people going there after reading the article.
In Wednesdays paper the put a small add stating that is is private property. The owner obviously gave them stick.
Pieter, maybe you must send the article on the cleanup to the Burger as well, it might make more people think about
leaving their waste there.
Might also blow our horn a bit harder.

Re: Trekoskraal Clean-up - 25-27 Jan 2013
It is a pity that the Burger published such an reckless article. That is not the kind of publication which Trekoskraal need. As soon as the camping becomes a problem to the owner he is just going to stop people from going there and that will spoil the fun to all of us.

Re: Trekoskraal Clean-up - 25-27 Jan 2013
Pls remember that where we camped and a large section where the people camp is below the high water markers/line thus government property.
Some clever individuals camped on the farmer/owners property. Agree the Burger is a bit reckless. Tietiesbaai is also not what it used to be and I hear regular complaints. They would have done something about it but I am not sure what the plan was. Maybe Pieter knows?

Uitstekend!
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
Life is like a jar of Jalapeño peppers ... what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.
Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.
It's not about waiting for storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
And be yourself ..... everyone else is taken!
