Hi-lift jack
Morning guys/gals
Was browsing at Cash Crusaders and came across a hi-lift jack, with attachment for R700, and I thought it was a good buy. Went home and tried it and it works but I can see the damage it can cause if in the wrong hands.
1. I can see it can be useful for lifting or lowering
2. Aslo for pulling or pushing in a recovery situation
3. The attachment can be used to raise each wheel
4. However, the hi-lift points in the bumper do not match the shape of the hi-lift
Will someone please tell me how to use this lift safely and any other help on it's use will be appreciated.

Re: Hi-lift jack
Donkey, awesome piece of equipment! Very useful, but even more dangerous!!!
Always keep both hands on the lever using your body weight to operate the lever up and down
Always make sure that with each click that the pin sit 100% in the hole that its suppose to!
Make sure that the foot is on a flat surface or stands in such a way that it cant move!
Use designed highlift jack points on the bumpers or sliders!
One wrong move and that long handle will start to move very quickly up and down and anything in its way will be broken or even worse!
We use one on the farm and never had an accident where anyone was injured, but ive seen it in action when it all goes wrong and let me tell you!!! You do not want to be close to it when it happens!

Re: Hi-lift jack
Thanks Tal, I can see the potential danger if used wrong hence I'm asking first.

Re: Hi-lift jack
It's a dangerous piece of equipment, by if handled with the respect it so richly deserves, it's an invaluable tool in some situations. Not a necessity, but a very nice to have when you need it.

When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
Life is like a jar of Jalapeño peppers ... what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.
Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.
