We will be taking part in the AAWDC Fun Day to be held at Gerotek on the 17th of August 2013. The aim of the Fun Day is to raise funds for the "Endangered Wildlife Trust" to be used for their Wild Dog Initiative in the Greater Kruger National Park, the main purpose being to purchase tracking collars.

Costs are R150 per vehicle. NB: We need 10 vehicles to compete.
Camping is R100 per vehicle but I need to confirm this.

There are 2 parts to this event. Part 1 is to get a team of 10 vehicles together to take part in the event and Part 2 is to get n team together to setup an obstacle and man it. For those willing to assist in the setup of the obstacle you will be asked to give up some of your free time a week or 2 prior to the event so we can go out and prep it for the day. We will also require 4 people to man the obstacle as marshals.

Was just wondering, I see nobody taking part in the obstacle drives, are they that difficult and are you going to hurt your vehicle.

It will be as difficult as the guys setting up the course make it but I doubt it will be that difficult. After all it is for standard 4x4's.

I am taking part as a competitor as well as setup.

Some of the obstacles might be tough but not vehicle damage tough. One of the Bridgestone challenges were held there last year

Do I need a co-driver for this event? If i remember correctly from last when it was held at base4 i needed one for puzzle building etc etc.

Cassie, i know this is off topic, but any news on clothing, would be nice if we all had the same or sort of the same shirts to wear on the day! I know there is a prize for team spirit and this helps!

We are looking for 3-4 more competitors guys. That is taking into account that Cassie and Werewolf compete with us. It isn't going to be so bad so nothing to be affraid of. It is a fun day and is also not a timed event.

Hey Peter, you have to be a member of one of the affiliated clubs. You can join us (only R100 a year).

As an added bonus, the committee decided that we are going to sponsor some shirts for this event so we need to get the peoples sizes as soon as possible
