Flower Power Fundraiser 21 September 2013

Post by woema »

Entry is R250 per vehicle on day of the event / R200 pre-booking by EFT
Registration time is 07.00am, departures at 08.00am (due to the wide variety of routes)
There are 4 routes (of wich you'll only have time to do 3)
Starting and Rendezvous point: Johnny Rockets Pub (R43, opposite Uilenkraalsmond turn off, Gansbaai)
Lucky Draw, jumping castle, "perlemoenpotjie" and more planned for the day.
Passenger trips for those who do not have a 4x4, with our guides at R50 per person. Limited space available.

Routes and ratings:

1. Flower Valley mud, grass, sand, rock scenic mountain route (unofficial rating: 2-3...depending on weather conditions)
2. Panorama rock, sand scenic mountain route (unofficial rating: 2-3....depending on weather conditions)
3. Murasie sand, turf, mud (unofficial rating: 3-4, depending on how much you want to get stuck....chicken runs available)
4. Witblitzroute sand, turf, rock, mud (unofficial rating: 3-5....depending on weather conditions)

The above mentioned routes are all vehicle friendly routes, when driven responsibly. Limited experience acceptable on all routes; except Witblitz. This route demands slightly more experience, but helping hands and guides will see you through. Slippery under foot conditions levels out the playing field to an extent, so drivers with vertigo might have a hard time in the wet, as the gradient is a bit daunting. All the routes have guides and recovery personnel are on hand. Photographers along the routes will be trying to catch you in action, in order to publish the day's events on our Facebook page: Flower Power.

I started this project last year as a Police driven outreach to the rural community, with the main aim of uplifting the Flower Valley Early Learning Centre. This eco pre-school is not just another education institution, it is a place where quality care and attention is given to children younger than 6, on a 1 to 1 basis and an essential service to the flower pickers of the region. The school is governed by The Flower Valley Trust. Government funding is insufficient for the daily needs of the school and the school bus will have to be replaced soon. With your participation and investment, we can guarantee these children something to look forward to.

Thank you for taking the time to consider our invitation. We hope to see you there. Last year we managed to get 47 nature and off road lovers with their vehicles, can we beat that this year? Please help us try!
