Hilux welcomes Jeep to the Family

Post by MOFASA »

Hi Luxers

So as some of you know, I have been quite sneaky that last 2 or so weeks......

It was SWAMBOS Birthday on the 25th and I was looking at trading in the old Volvo V40 on something more practical for her / US....

So when we went with the Hilux club to Berakah a few weeks ago Swambo saw a cute little JEEP (YES A JEEP) that she really liked or should we say it in her words...
"That's just sooooo NuNu (meaning sooooo cute)
Well before we saw the Jeep I already had the thought in mind to do a sneaky trade in on another newer Volvo XC90
I did lots of research on the XC90 and decided NOT to go for it cos of the maintenance cost.......
So needless to say I was quite relieved that she loved the jeep.... Yes we are both jeep fans and both of us have wanted a jeep for a very long time..... :shh: :shh:

So yesterday I made an excuse to have the Volvo for the day and dropped swambo off at work, then at 08H30 I was off to Parys to go look at the jeep in the Volvo and Volvo papers in hand.....
I tested the jeep on and off road and was VERY impressed so that's when the dealing started....

To cut a LOOOONG story short..... I drove the jeep home and got her washed just in time to hide her in the garage and go fetch swambo from work in MOFASA...
We got home after a very in depth discussion on the cost of service on the Volvo and some white lies from me... :shh:
I stood swambo in front of the garage and Ross opened it, Swambo SLOWLY opened her eyes and burst into tears.....

The rest is History....

Sally LOVES her new 2003 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Edition 4.0L and so do I.....

If I had to choose between a Hilux and a Jeep.... well they are both extremely AWSUM vehicles in their own special way.....

Happy Birthday Baby may you and I have many special miles in your Jeep......

Jeep still needs a name.....

Well done and congratulations! Awesome and very capable toy you bought there! (See what I did there, 'toy'! That way I don't have to say Jeep and it's halway to the good name - Toyota! - Clever like a dolphin today!)

Enjoy many happy miles in the Toy!

sorry for the very slow response, been running around and just got on here now
the bottom of the piston, the side of the piston that hangs down with only the basic function to help guide the piston in the bore, they are known to break on those 4.0
however you will 1st have a ticking noise, and it's not all of them

may be just check what oil is being used, not sure if those motors need the zink additive
don't worry too much about this, that was most probably Chrysler best motor

Enjoy it and many happy miles
