I would like to know if it will be worth wile changing from a 2.8 3l diesel to a 2.2 4y
i have rebuilt my motor after it got hot and have the same problem
I have done evrything new head new radiator new thermostat new water pump(all is new) and it still gets hot when i go over 80 km/h or on the open road I never had the problem before I am desperate. and need help.

Rather get your car to someone that knows how to properly setup and adjust a diesel - over-fueling will also cause overheating!
For a start, also have a decent freeflow exhaust installed, minimum 63mm.
