doctor dentist, plumber, electrition and mechanics ???

Post by SYRON CONVERSIONS »

Well my question to all of you is, what is the difference between a doctor, a dentist and a mechanic????

When you go to the doctor or dentist, he or she repairs your teeth, fills holes, the doctor stitches you up, or gives you pills for flu.

But when you take your vehicle to a mechanic, I just cannot understand the fact that when you have serviced a clients vehicle, that when it gives problems afterwards, the client brings the vehicle back to you and he expects the mechanic to repair it for free. Sometimes the parts that are fitted have failed or they were of a poor quality and the client might call this a come back.

However when you go to the dentist the second time round because the filling has fallen out or you still have the flu, the doctor or the dentist just charges you again.

Is this really fair?

Doctors, dentists and mechanics are all professional people, they have all studies and passed exams, thus what makes the dentist and doctors different?

This is why I never use or quote for substandard materials. If the client insists on 'budget' stuff I make it clear that I cannot be held responsible if it fails.

Just for fun:

A mechanic was removing a cylinder-head from the motor of a Dodge SRT-4 when he spotted a well-known cardiologist in his shop.

The cardiologist was there waiting for the service manager to come take a look at his car when the mechanic shouted across the garage "Hey Doc, want to take a look at this?"

The cardiologist, a bit surprised, walked over to where the mechanic was working on the SRT. The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag and asked,

"So Doc, look at this engine. I open its heart, take the valves out, repair any damage, and then put them back in, and when I finish, it works just like new.

So how can I make 39,675 a year, a pretty small salary, and you get the really big bucks, $1,695,759, when you and I are doing basically the same work?"

The cardiologist paused, smiled and leaned over, then whispered to the mechanic...

''Try doing it with the engine running."

well at least you can CHOOSE your doctor and dentist - and you can "let them go" if they dont perform ...

with the modern stealer system you are tied into a UN-QUALIFIED appies appie that can hardly change the oil of your 2nd biggest investment !! And damned if they care a hoot .... And voting with my feet by going Hoppy ensures decent service levels - BUT I still loose out on the costs of the service plan that was built into the sale price ....

and while I am on that topic - IF stealers/fitment centres employed PROPERLY qualified technicians then just maybe they will have less returns .... though that would hardly stop the type that comes back after 6 months: "You changed the oil on my car, now the wheel bearings are faulty. Why did YOU break it?"

so clearly nothing is THAT straight forward ...

Remember that you are paying for the DOCTOR / DENTIST to PRACTICE so if you are paying someone to practice on you it means they do not really know what is going on so therefore you have no recourse  :slap:  :banned:

by the same token - why do we pay a BROKER to make us money .... surely looking at his title we should KNOW we will be BROKER after his "service" ... :siffler: :siffler:
