Route to Mabua

Post by pduminy »

Hi Guys

I am leaving for Mabuasehube on March 20, 2014 and would like some input on my planned route.

I am planning on taking the R375 from Sanniehof and to travel all along the South Africa/Botswana border and to sleep over at McCarthy's Rest. The sleep-over is already booked and paid for.

I don't feel like going the Vryburg, Kuruman route.

Is this a viable alternative? Has anybody done this recently?

Any input will be very welcome.

Yes we did this last year. Where are you staying over at McCarthys?

From McCarthys to Tsabong is tar road, 15 minutes drive. In Tsabong you can refuel, and shopping is also available. You can even draw money at Barclays Bank.

From McCarthys the road is fairly well sign posted. The first stretch is good gravel but the last 80km is sand track.

Is the R375 a tarred road?
We have booked at Springbokpan Gasteplaas for March 21.

Dont think so Pierre. The A20 in the BW side of the border is though.. We came in on the R380 from Hotazel side .. gravel-travel all the way..

Ek vermoed julle kan probleme optel met daai paspoort... sorteer dit eerder uit voor julle gaan... die ouens by die grens is BAIE taai met daai goed. Jy moet 6 maande oor he voor jou paspoort verval... :silent: :silent: :silent: Binnelandse Sake is nogals vinnig met daai goete deesdae.. My vrou het haar paspoort verlede jaar binne 10 werksdae gekry..
