Blomme in die Karoo

Post by Toppie4x4 »

Dankie Andre

Lyk my ek kan plek kry by nieuwoudtville vanaf 6 tot 11 September.

Sien hierdie trip report:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11629" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hi Andre, If you are along the coast you can camp anywhere along the west coast until you get to the Namaqua Eco National Park. When we were there we camped at Kammieskroon and Springbok. There is also a campsites at Hondeklipbaai and Van Rhynsdorp as well as Farm Campsites out of town towards Niewoudville and just over the van Rhyns Pass at Niewoudsville. There are three different biomes of flowers in the van Rhynsdorp area where the mountain flowers(bulbs), coastal flowers as well as the plains flowers meet, which is supposed to be a sight to behold. There are also great flower shows west of Kammieskroon at Dassie farm reserve or something to that effect as well as a small Goegab Nature Reserve outside Springbok. Other than the campsite at Springbok, you will also find a campsite a few kilometers south of Springbok just off the N7 towards Kammieskroon. There is also a campsite just north of ClanWilliam on the N7 as well as at the ClanWilliam Dam just out of town. While you are in the area drive up or down the West Coast from just beow Hondeklipbaai to Lutzville all along the coast (there is also the drive between Springbok to Hondeklipbaai over the Wildeperdspas), drive the Cederberg Mountains and include the Wuppertal area (there are also plenty campsites along this route with many places of interest). These are all great drives and will include beautiful scenery as well as flowers. Roger from Vioolsdrif should be able to give you more information. Good luck and enjoy.

Ons het baie reën gehad, so ek is verbaas dat daar so min blomme is.
