PIESANG KLOOF 4X4 11th JULY GUATENG GTG ONLY ONE WEEK LEFT

Hi All
Piesang kloof 4x4 is in the Magaliesberg region close to Harties. There is a 3 hour and a 5 hour trail.
Cost of the trails are R200 and R300 respectively.
So on which date do you guys want to do this trail? the 11th of 18th July?
And which trail do you want to do?
And this time lets try and get the braai thing right and socialize a bit afterwards.

11th sounds cool.
Quick suggestion - perhaps if more than 20 vehicles, divide into 2 groups, leaving an hour apart? Early birds and the mif ones who like to sleep later (he he), simply so that the gatherings at obstacles don't become massive delays.
At Kungwini it worked lekker despite there being 20 vehicles, but there really was only one area of serious obstacles, so the there was no major bottleneck.
The social aspect of these bottlenecks are lekker, but one's day can become quite long if it happens again and again in large groups.
As mentioned - just a thought.

Wil net bysê - drie uur trail sal reg wees want met 'n groot groep gaan daardie drie uur aanstap na 4 of 5 uur en dan is dit weer te laat vir die braai en kuier.

Dammit. Can you guys please just stop posting on this thread... You are making it hard to ignore if it keep coming up. We are leaving for a Moz trip VERY close to this date and I cant risk any damage... But jislaaik it is tempting!!

Hi guys. If I may put my 2cents worth in. I have driven the Piesangkloof trail a number of times as I am sure others have as well both the 3 hour and the 5 hour trail. The 3 Hour trail easily becomes a 3 and half hour trail if u are more than 10 vehicles and if you are doing the 5 hour trail. It will definitely become a 6 hour trail if you are more than 10 vehicles. The trail is extremely rocky and it can become very technical. So it's really slow going. And with all the breathtaking views and possible people taking pics. It becomes a long day. The end of the 5/6 hour trail does not end at the farm. But rather on somebody else's farm a few kms down the road and as you all may know..there are no ablution facilities. .so make sure the ladies are comfortable if any are going with. The best suggestion is to complete the 3 hout trail around the mountain and connect back to the main trail which either then those that want to go back can do so back down to the farm and those that want to continue. .cross over and continue along the ridge. Here you will find a beautiful spot on the ridge with views both sides. Stop here as it will already be around 12.. and there and there make a braai.. There is a nice spot for one. . But note. . You have to be self sufficient. .There are no braais or water or toilets up there. So you have to take yr own. After a lekker 1 hour stop for lunch.. continue along the ridge .Over more rocks. . through thick brush for another 2 hours or so. and then meander down into the valley. . Pass old farm houses....some of them very spooky. Till the main road. As I say its a few kms from yr start point. . So if u want to braai afterwards. .then you have to go all the way back to the farm. Very rocky. .very technical. . Good tyres needed. . .tyre damage will occur....if u have a decent lift++. If yr vehicle is standard or low. U will knock it.. if u have sliders. Make sure they on and if u are going to be 15 plus vehicles. .its going to be a long day..Enjoy... might join you.[img]
