BOKSPITS TO WERDA INSIDE BOTSWANA ROAD CONDITION ?

Can someone offer advice of the road type (tar or sand ?) and condition of the Bokspits to Werda road inside Botswana please.
Am advised to enter at "Gemsbok" border and travel to Tshabong and then onto Werda where we will stay at a Guest House.
Is this the best route from Upington to Werda ?
