4Y with EFI idling problems

Post by scott west »

My Hilux is fitted with a Dicktator EFI. The problem is that the idle control valve does not work with the result that idling is not what it should be.(actually it sucks). My question is to whom do I go to get it fixed in the Pretoria area.

Howzit Scott :P

Welcome to

The Best 4x4 Forum x Far :D:

I'm also running a Diktator on my new 4Y, I'm 3500kms in.

I've had to learn by 'trail and error' how to set-up and adjust the ICV.

As my mouter is brand new, I have to fine tune the ICV Settings every now and again as the engine starts to loosen up ie.

when brand new the Target Idle had to be 1100RPM with an Actual of 1100 RPM ++

Now the Target Idle is 800 RPM with an Actual of +/- 850 RPM.

Have a go yourself Scott, the full explanation on how to set-up and fine tune the ICV is here:

http://www.dicktator.co.za/downloads/DI ... 0GUIDE.PDF

Download it and read it :P

Just remember to always back-up your current settings first, it took me three evenings to really get my nogin around the software and acheive the best set-up.

The other thing I would strongly recommend is giving your ICV a good wash with Silicone Spray then connect it to your batt (with some made-up jumpers) intermittantly to get everything moving inside lekker. :P

Very Best o' Luck :!:
