Diesel engine conversion
Hi guys I have a question, I have a 2.7 Hilux 99 that I want to stick a 3,0 D motor into . Is the gearbox and diff compatible? This is only a farm vehicle so no tar road driving . Comments will be appreciated.

Re: Diesel engine conversion
I think you will need a new bellhousing and the gear ratios will be different to account for the lower torque of the petrol motor, so you might need a new gearbox as well. Why are you wanting to change?

Might be easier to sell and get another bakkie 2nd hand? Definitely cheaper than a conversion
