Spottier won’t trigger onto high beam

Post by Johnny 5 »

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has put the replacement led headlights in their hilux and did they then have troubles hooking thier spotlights up to high beam
I have a 98 hilux and can’t seem to get the spotters to trigger on on high beam
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
Ps, I’m not using the h4 adaptor, im trying to trigger from the high beam wire on the blinker post
They worked find on the old headlights with the h4 adaptor

The switch on the headlight stalk (post?) operates a relay that is probably behind one of the footwell covers in either the driver's or passenger's footwells. If you tap into the wire downstream of the relay, and wire it to the 86 pin on a 4 pin relay, it will carry enough current to switch the relay. Connect your lights to the 87 pin and ground the others, and it should work.
Happy trails
