Our source of supply for these units has sadly dried up now, but for the record, my unit is still going strong and it has started PraDog (3400cc V6) with no problems, the motor turns over fast. Mate of mine started his diesel-powered Unimog with one as well. This little unit has really impressed me!...

Was there a loss of power too? I'm suspecting might be a coil pack, HT plug cable or possibly semi-blocked injector, but the guys with more brain cells than I will surely reply soon.

Presumably the ducting between the heater flow to the foot section is blocked or has worked loose somehow. Apparently the diode has to be in the voltage sensor lead. I'm not au fait with car electrics but seems what people do is to remove the voltage sensor fuse and replace it with a diode, thereby gaining ±0.6v over & above the nominal voltage. Some people have put two diodes in thereby effecting a 1.2v...

Yep, if it was wired incorrectly, it would not work at all. Probably do all sorts of horrible things to your vehicle electrics as well.

The only difference between those two diodes is that the first can work with a voltage up to 1000v at 1 amp, while the second one is a 3 amp diode rated at 200v. I fitted a Power Brake conversion kit to Bulldog shortly after purchasing Bulldog, the brakes were an immediate improvemnt and well worth the money spent. It is important to run the brakes in as per PB's instructions.

The alternator should provide minimum of ±13.1v when engine is at idle, if not, then it is faulty. Midas should be able to assist you there.

More than likely the voltage regulator has died. Replace it and maybe check the alternator bearings as well. One assumes you have checked that the cables around the alternator are tight and in good condition?
