Re: Lights flashing when trailer plug inserted

Basically the module comprises either a relay to operate the trailer lights, or a Thyristor, which operates like an electronic relay. In other words, no additional current load is placed on the existing wiring loom other than the drive for the relay or thyristor which is usually inconsequential. The...

And this morning when I was more awake than last night when I wrote the article two posts up, I realise that I have never had the boat at East London. Re: Crest Rider Boats - East London?

Andy, my dream boat at the time was a G4 cabin cruiser, I thought it was the greatest thing oin earth. As said, we camped many times at the Vaal dam and I wanted to fit it out for cruising and living in, but I was sadly too poor to afford one, they used to sell for around R1890 brand new. Crest Rider Boats - East London?

In ±1973/4 I bought a Crestrider G3 speed boat brand new for the princely sum of R1100. I still have this boat and was contacted recently by a chap on the 4x4CF who had just bought one as well. These are sound boats, very, very stable as one would expect from those massive pontoons on either side of...

I had the same with a 2700i after someone got over-ambitious with a hi-pressure pump. Only thing that solved it was a replacement plug harness from Toyota. Guess some water got inside the cabling and leaked to earth, although I could not see any sparks at night when I checked.

Sunlight Dishwasher is probably the worst thing to use when washing cars. It removes any wax finish that the car might have had - it is formulated for washing dishes and removes fatty, waxy gunk.

Hi Ian, Thanks for the kind words ;) Range is always 'line of sight' with VHF two-way radios, the real difference is the fringe area reception where Analog starts to get choppy and noisy, as heard in the audio clip above. But the digital audio retains clarity before dropping off, due to the line of ...

As long as you opt for a quarter-wave VHF antenna tuned for ±157MHz you well be fine for the normal ORRA channels.

Can't help with the fuel problem, but very doubtful that the CPU would be faulty. A CPU acts according to the information presented to it and very seldom itself gives errors.

Sounds stupid, but try disconnect the battery for a few minutyes and then reconnect, maybe the CPU just needs a reboot.

It might be prudent to climb underneath the vehicle and inspect the chassis for rust, much more important then general body rust. If the vehicle has been used for sea-launches it might be best to walk away from it.
