Oh yes I found out why the 1st deal didnt require a deposit. It was because Standard Bank thought that it was a 2008 model and not a 2006 model.

Thanks for info guys, my insurance gave me the option of trade or retail value. I wont be able to take either thanks to deposit which I dont have.

Will just have to look for a later model.

It is to do with the year model. The older the vehicle the higher the risk for the bank I get that this might be the case. But R40 000 deposit + R 20 000 price difference = R60 000 for 1 year difference in model? Sounds a bit off. Has to be said that I added a R10 000 canopy to second deal. So R50 ...
