Re: Electric Vehicles
http://www.dagbladet.no/2016/01/01/nyheter/bil/fritid/brann/42589222/ Happens often here in Norway. Firepeople can't do much against this fire. In a lot of parking garages it is not allowed to parl a Electric vehicle, because of fire danger. If they start burning it is HOT, and the firemen can only...

Re: Have YOU ever heard about CLUSTER Headaches......
Hey guys / girls. Sorry I don't have much time but I wrote before that my wife has trigeminus neuralgia. She has a lot of other symptomes, and it almost starts to look like MS. ( a lot of MS patients has also trigeminus) But I now found out that vitamine B12 could occur those symptomes. Her B12 is l...

Re: hilux wan't drive straight
Oh no. I'm born in the Netherlands, and there we have the same problems as here. However, there is a difference. If I had this problem in the Netherlands and go back to the garage with it, they try to solve it. If you give a hint what could go wrong they take it serious, and use this hint. Here they...

Re: hilux wan't drive straight
Happy end ? I prommissed to update, so here I am. After a while I just give the right wheel some more toe-in. And the car is driving as before! I still wanted answers why they did not adjust the car as it should. Technical were the reasons Toyota gave stupid, more stupid or extreme stupid. And almos...

Re: Left rear brake bonding/catching
Is this solved already? Otherwise it could be one of the brakelines is stucked. The rubber hoses sometimes will swell up inside. If you press the brakepedal the brakingfluid is pressed through the small hole, but has to float back only by pressure of a little spring. So the wheel cilinder is staying...

Re: Smoke after gasket replacement
Henk, Rudi has a 2.2 petrol motor (4Y). The white smoke is oil being burned and he's using oil. Apparently the only thing that has changed is the head gasket was replaced, so the other causes like rings and valve stem seals are unlikely candidates.   Is there a hole were I can di...

Re: Smoke after gasket replacement
White smoke can als be unburned diesel.
Drinking oil should give blue smoke.
However: when a diesel not get enough diesel is sucks oil.
So my thinking is the timing belt a thooth wrong or the diesel pump is moved.

Re: 2.5 Hilux not starting
I am not sure about this Hilux ( and Focus) but a lot of cars need a minimum RPM at starting. So there is a minimum speed the startmotor has to turn around the engine. If this is set at 750RPM for example it will not start when it cranks 749RPM. But for us sounds that the same. A new battery is most...

Re: hilux wan't drive straight
I don't know yet exactly what to do. I guess it will start with a letter, there they will have ONE possibility to come with a good solution. There is to much what went wrong allready. I did not mention it here before, I was almost forgotten it: after the first visit and allignment I noticed at home ...

Re: hilux wan't drive straight
BINGO!!! I was lookin again to the paper of the adjustment. ( and again and again) Of course is only the front adjusted but the rear wheels show automatic up in the paper. The left toe-in is changed from 0°03' to 0°06' AND the thrust-angle is also changed form 0°06' to 0°08'. Big boy that can chang...

Re: hilux wan't drive straight
No the rope methode is not accurate, but the results of this hitec-laser-beamed tool from Toyota give me bad results too :frustrated: It will not be the first time I use the rope methode with good results. Mainly at VW beetles, T2 and buggies. The main thing now is not to adjust in the wild, but to ...

Re: hilux wan't drive straight
Absolutely right: no adjustmentpoints. If I had changed out the part, I would not check the allignment at all. Only if there should be a problem afterwards. I do have a max ellery's workshop manual that has a the specs of camber and caster....but not toe-in!! It only says in the intro of the stuff: ...

Re: hilux wan't drive straight
Yes it is the same, but I have different colors!
It is the center link cross rod that is changed out. So no sdjustable parts.
(that is the part that could brake Looks like this one from allibaba is broken already right in the middle )

Thanks again. The idler arm is changed about 2 months ago. No effect on the steering after that. Just as good as before. As far as I could understand the mecanic and his chief, there was no play in joints or things like that. ( they speak dialect between each other ) The chief transated in Norwegian...

Re: Have YOU ever heard about CLUSTER Headaches......
The question was: Have you ever heard about cluster headaches.... My answer is yes. But I only read about it. Quite a lot. Why? My wife suffers of Trigeminal neuralgia. The pain of those two is about the same. The biggest difference is that TN not come up when you are a sleep. That sounds as an adva...

Most of the time the underside of the bars are open. I don't how your brand is, but I expect the same. I have succeed sometimes with taping the undeside so it is closed. It stopped a wisthle some times. It all depends on the combination of the car and the bars. Sometimes the tape did not help at all...

In 2006 was there an recall of the hilux because of a weak centre tie-rod. I guess worldwide. ( also the VW taro) Believe it or not: 1 april I was called of the Toyota dealer in the area that I had to come with the car for this new Tie-rod. The car is from '97. I can still not believe that they call...
