Hi All, I have a colleague coming to visit SA with his family at the end of July/August for 3-4 weeks. They are looking at hiring a camper van or sorts then doing a run to the Kruger Park and then all the way down the east cost to Cape Town. It seems quite adventurous for Europeans and they are a bi...

Hi All I have an old 86 single cab raider. The load bin is starting to get a bit rusty underneath the old bakkie back liner. Is there any recommendation on how to get this stuff off. I tried wire wheel and flapdisk on the angle grinder - not working great. Thinking sandblasting might be better. Any ...

Jorge, Give Diesel Electric a call, ask for the closest local agent: Diesel-Electric Network: Tel. 0860 337722 They will probably be able to offer you the new part, which will be pretty expensive... there dealers/retailers should have recon'd as an option! mr b Tried Diesel-Electric - seems they do...

Jorge, if that thing is stuffed, then I would suggest you get a newer generation alternator, like a Bosch... the later model SFA's(91+ IIRC) came standard with the Bosch... the unit has integrated regulator and brushes, as a screw on/off module, much easier to replace/service! Ok Replaced the external Voltage regulator with zero Success and the same problem persists so it's not the regulator. On the alternator, if I take all the wires off it and run the motor the output fluctuates a bit but varies from 9.5 to about 11.8 volts.
