Man that is an amazing red truck.
Kudos.
My 2 cents, get a cutom cut piece of Sheet metal, colour it RED and use that to close up the glove-box opening.

Re: Replacing my Tyres
Just thought i'd give you guys an update on the Coopers: Tyres are performing well. Decent grip on metalled roads. Good traction in beach sand and mud/dirt. Does let go of the rear-end when the roads are wet and/or if there is a thin layer of dirt/sand on the road. Kryptonite is the light sludge on ...

VIGO Compatible Driver and Passenger Seats
Hello everyone, Hope you're all doing well. Just a quick question if someone can point me in the right direction: What other seats are bolt-on compatible with a 2011 hilux? Only fronts, mind. Not the back bench. I was wondering if i could get the seats to be more comfortable and toyota does make som...

Re: Replacing my Tyres
I would have gone for the BFs but I couldn't source them locally. So I went with the Coopers. I'll update when I've run them for a bit. Early impressions are handling has improved and ride is softer but I guess that would be the case regardless since the old ones were hard as rock. Cost for 4 tyres ...

Replacing my Tyres
Dear All, Been a while since i last posted. Just wanted your considered opinions on the replacement tyres I'm considering. Currently running 2012 year BF Goodrich A/T which have served me well. But they are now hard as rock and the grip is going. To the extent I'm afraid of gunning the engine on tur...

Pinging noise from Front Suspension - 2011 Hilux
Hi People, Just wanted to check with you guys if you could give me an idea of what to expect when i go to the mechanic. Here's the situation: When i turn the steering wheel to full left lock a series of pinging noises come from somewhere near the front axle. The noises sound like tung tung tung tung...

V6 dude, no question.
I love mine.
With the ESP off it makes the most wonderful screeching and screaming noises when it roasts its tyres.
Sounds you only hear in movies.
Go for it.

Re: Airbag Recall
I decided to do some legwork on my own as well. I found The South Africa recall site and plugged in my VIN which came back negative. Model ranges shown in South Africa were up to 2007. Then I checked the Australian recall site and the VIN ranges there were up to 2009. I think I'm safe. If someone el...

Airbag Recall
Dear Friends, Recently saw an announcement in a local paper (Pakistan) stating Toyota wants to recall 2007 to 2011 hilux models to replace the Takata airbags. My hilux was imported from ZA to Pakistan and is a 2011. Does anyone have an idea if it also has the Takata airbags? If it does I'll need to ...

Hi Haboob,
I wanted the experts here to see the tread and advise if looks ok.
If the pictures are clear enough. Which I'm not sure about.

Re: Fuel consumption V6 over 4000km
I've only had my v6 for a couple of weeks now so I'm no expert but my onboard computer is saying 4.2 to 4.5 km/l. I have a long range tank apparently. Which i discovered when i took it to the fuel pump after picking it up from the dealer. I was used to my Terios so I thought 'sure this will have a b...

Had that problem on a Hyundai coupe I once had. The climate control system had developed a bug in its circuitry. I remember that the workshop took out the air con control unit and repaired it. And it worked fine. Friend of mine had the same problem and his one had to be replaced.

Ok. So took the jumper behind the switch out. Used a testing screwdriver to check if it was receiving power. And the screwdriver lit up. So the switch is receiving power. Next will be to check if the actuator is receiving power at the diff. Looks like I'm going to have to get under the rear suspensi...

Re: Tracing my vehicle's history
Be Goodrich off road tyres on. Spare is different. Brakes are solid. But I'm guessing they were serviced regularly since MCHILUX says there's a history for the first 90,000 km. Outwardly there's very little that points to high mileage. I guess maybe a dyno test can reveal how much power the engine h...
