Re: Visa Angola

Thanks Johan - My latest info is that Switzerland is one of the approved countries where one can get the visa at the border.

Visa Angola

Hello All
Does anyone have any experience with the application for a visa for Angola. We plan to be there in June 2018.

My wife has a Swiss passport anf I have a RSA passport. I looks as if a RSA does not need a visa as from Dec 2017 but I have to confirm this.

Thanks

Re: Moving back to SA

Van Zyls is not as bad as people say it is. We overnighted at the campsite at the top and went down early in the morning. While you are there why not have a look at the dry river beds - Hoanib, Hoearusib and Khumib. They were very good. We always found a campsite outside of the river beds and then s...

Re: Moving back to SA

Hello Hennie We were there in 2015 and tried to get in from the north but the truck carrying the building materials for the new lodge had messed up the sand tracks so much that it was low-range 15kms/hr. We had to diff-lock front and back to get out of the track when we met the truck on the track. C...

Moving back to SA

Hello All
We are planning to move back to SA from New Zealand after being away for over 35 years. We plan to settle in Sedgefield and our next trip will be Botswana (Mabuasehube) through Namibia (Khaudum) and then into Angola.

Any suggestions and thoughts will be welcome.

Hello Fanus My Afrikaans is nie so goed nie! Two places that I can recommend: Hardap Dam - good facilities and have a tour of the fish farm. Really interesting. Brokkaros Crater - This is to the west of Tses. Two abandoned campsites. Really quiet and remote on the top of the volcano. Fantastic spot....

Re: Suspension modification - Knysna/George

Hi Edge Thank you for the info. I sort of understand a bit more now and can now "Speek ds Speek" and use words like "Load Hog" with the suspension guys. I feel that the simple solution of beefing up the existing springs would be OK. The vehicle survived super potholed Chinese dev...

Suspension modification - Knysna/George

Hi All We live in New Zealand and love Africa. We have a Hilux 2.5 TD DC stored in Sedgefield/Knysna at the moment. The vehicle has an Alucab canopy and Generation3 popup fitted which puts a lot of weight on the rear. The back springs are just about horizontal but have survived a 4-month, bush-bashi...

Hunters Road - Botswana

Hi Guys (and Gals)

Does anyone have any info on the Hunters Road along the Bots/Zim border. We plan to travel it in June.

We will start from Elephant Sands, overnight at Panda Rest Camp or along the route and then up to Kasane.

Thanks
