Is it not stiff in 4x4 high?
Jack the front up, engage hubs, leave transfer in 2wd high, and turn the front wheels and propshaft all separately by hand to feel if anything is binding.

Re: Dual side by side fuel tanks

The 90L is definitely going in the original's place. With the thirsty 22R @ 6km/L, 85 useable litres only gives a range of 500km. With the original now lying around I may as well bolt it in as the job is not too onerous and this nudges up the range to 850km which gets into the 'long distance' realm....

Dual side by side fuel tanks

I have the opportunity to get hold of a 90L 1998 LTD fuel tank and am thinking of putting it next to my original tank and re-routing the exhaust (22R) - does anyone have advice on this or a few pictures of a successful addition?

Offer 43-5k to start.
It is a classic with increasing recognition, especially in America etc.
You hardly see them on our roads.
A slow restoration could result in good value long term.
I don't think you can go wrong in this price range, at minimum get your money back.

On the subject of ignition, what are the recommended HT lead brands - NGK, BougiCord etc.? Toyota's price is crazy.
I have proper continuous misfire up to 2300 rpm, after that all good (22R Brospeed). Most often occurs when moist/raining. Have replaced the correct NGK sparkys so far.

Hi Geoff I had the same scenario. The power for the solenoid runs through the key barrel, and the contacts in the barrel wear out and don't allow enough current through to enable the solenoid to function properly, hence the click sound. The tap of the hammer jiggles the solenoid and bendix just enou...

Grab the pinion where it goes into the diff housing and try move it around - it should have little (0.5mm or so) to no movement side to side. Check the front as well if you use 4x4 a lot.
