Re: Camp kitchen / chuck box

It will depend on your set up and how this works. What canopy do you have? ... Again, difficult if we do not know your set-up. Thanks for the advice Haboob. Here's some pictures of my set-up right now. There is a wrap-around awning on the other side of the bakkie that you can't see here. This is as...

Re: Camp kitchen / chuck box

Thanks for the advice Andy. I was thinking of something that I could take in and out of the truck and set-up on a table that already had all of my kit in it would be the best solution since I wouldn't want it in the truck all the time. Originally I was thinking of a DIY box where everything has its ...

Camp kitchen / chuck box

Hi everyone, I am a proud new owner of a kitted out 2010 3.0L Hilux D4D and am well into preparing for my first 3 month overland trip. I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for a camp kitchen set-up that can be set-up and taken down every day as efficiently and easily as possible. I'm nervou...

Re: 2005 KZTE Purchase thoughts

Thanks for the advice guys. I had looked through the forums at some of the KZTE debate but always tough to make a call. This advice seems really sound though and I appreciate it. It turns out this vehicle wasn't what was advertised and was not well maintained at all. Leaking oil, beat-up exterior, n...

2005 KZTE Purchase thoughts

Hi Everyone, I'm looking at a 2005 3.0 KZTE with 220,000kms on the clock this afternoon. I think it could be a great vehicle for me but I wanted to check the group's thoughts first. I'm going to need the vehicle to take me to work and back for the next 2 - 3 years as well as be able to perform off-r...

Re: New to SA, new to the forum

Hi everyone, Thanks for all of the replies, especially for the recommendations about which truck to look for. I think the past few days have been some of my most unproductive at work as I browse the travel destinations of the forum and dream about being in the bush rather than in the Sandton grind. ...

New to SA, new to the forum

Hi everyone, I moved to South Africa a year or so ago with my South African wife, although I am originally from the US. We are very keen on doing some overlanding trips over the next couple of years before we have kids so I've been looking around at vehicles. I still haven't found the vehicle that's...
