Re: My Hilux's canopy

Re: My Hilux's canopy
Daar is gewone...

@ Almal Dankie vir die komplimente... 'n kappie maak kamp nogal heelwat makliker.

Hi Blom
Lyk na besigheid. Ek like jou setup, maar ek glo hy gaan seker so bietjie meer hoogte in die middel he as jou "mock-up"
PS: ek like die "muur behangels" in jou garage

HI

My Hilux's Sliders
Hi All I took the original Tinfoil of BEFORE the got damaged. This was my idea of what should work. The rectangular tube is for cross-over protection and the round tube is for side protection  I've tested it a couple of times in the past two months and they seem to hold up after some cross-ove...

Not Yet, but maybe in the near future. It's just amazing to see what the "branded" canopies cost
I've got some "yster in die vuur" that I need to sort, and then I'll be doing this as a part time hobby/income

Re: Front Coil Spacer - Safe?
Hi I've got the 30mm spacer fitted. No problems to date. That the CV etc will bind.... Not possible. The only thing that you move with the installation of spacers is the "at rest" position of you suspension. You don't change the end stop's position or the control arm's positions. Thus.... ...

Re: Winch mounting position
On the ARB (KZTE) the feet mounting was forward (which I think to be the better option), but I bought a TJM bumper and the winch mounting is feet down,,,, I wonder if I should mod or build a bracket to change the winch position I don't know how much pull the rear winch feet can take befor it...

Hi All
I'm thinking... Should a winch be mounted feet down or feet forward ( in the direction of the pull)?

Re: lift on KZTE
Hi Piet
I'm confidend that the 31" will fit in the space for the spare whell. the reason is that a longrange tank is fitted, and the spare sits below it. The only thing is that the 31" will be wider, creating less ground clearance below the wheel. So I guess that I'll move it in the back

Re: lift on KZTE
THANX Well, then in that case I think that 31"'s then the way te go. This should correct the speedometer error and won't have such a great influence on the ratio as the 32"rs or 33"rs. From this, if you change the ratio, it'll overcome the problem of the low rpm vs feul issue. But tha...

Re: lift on KZTE
My speedo is currently about 10Km/h out on 120Km/h. This is one of the reasons I want to fit bigger tyres. To gain some ground clearance is obviosly the main reason. I do have a SAC intercooler fitted. So I'll then have to re-tune the engine management system. I'm only looking at a 2" lift....m...

Re: 3.0 KZTE 4x4 difflock only in LR4x4
Hi Piet
We just need to find out what each swith does. One of those will be an interlock switch to enable the difflock only when in LR. this is the switch that we need to bypass.
One will need to check that it doesn't intefere ith any of the other functions of the vehcile

Re: 3.0 KZTE 4x4 difflock only in LR4x4
Hear hear.
That is exactly what my thoughs were. When driving hard sand, a diff lock will do. I think that the sysstem gets the LR feedback from a switch on the TF case. I know that my Jeep has switches on the TF to show which function is selected on the TF.

Re: 3.0 KZTE 4x4 difflock only in LR4x4
It must be some sort of interlock, maybe via the transfer case. The locker is on in LR4x4. If I switch to HR4x4 then the light start to flash. It also flash when in Hr4x2 and HR4x4, When selecting LR4x4, the diff lock switches on..

Hi all
I recently bought a second hand KZTE 4x4. I found that the difflock only works when in LR 4x4. Is this correct?
