Re: Hit counter

Sien die ene raak "It was reported on Wednesday that Tata Motors, valued at $6.8-billion, has offered $2.05-billion for Ford's Jaguar and Land Rover and that the deal could be signed in the first quarter of 2008." So word dit nou`n TATA Rover  of `n Taguar? In die uiterste geval m...

Tot my vrou se eerste reaksie met die ligte mistykie wat die mense gemaak het, was "hoekom is die bonnet nie oop nie". Dit vertel boekdele

Re: Do you let your wife and children drive your 4x4 offroad

My wife does not even drive my SFA on-road, let alone off-road. She was a demon in my Discovery, trying to bump taxi's off the road  The SFA however seems to be her nemesis and I think she's driven it once

Ek sal nie my SFA verruil `n Koebaai bakkie nie. En die verkoopsman se antwoor...

Re: Turbo on 4Y

The bit where you say underpowered. Is it plain slow or do you have problems in the "rough"? My 4Y motor seems to behave as normal. Long hills tends to kill the speed and I can do 100 if I'm lucky. Cruising speed is about 110 - 130 but I prefer 120. Off road it has more than enough power. ...

Re: Mechanics in Cape Town you would recomend?

Although Snyman 4X4 specializes in Cruisers, they know Hiluxes as well. Benefit of using them is that they seem to have a contact for parts at Toyota SA's plant, and it gets couriered to them asap. And they have a good working relationship with http://www.goeiehooponderdele.co.za/ since they sit nex...

Re: Shocks

No winch in the front, but one big mother of a bullbar in front..! The bakkie sits level rear and front, and has quite bit of lift. Ons thing I can say is that the ride is incredibly soft - no kidney killers. Maybe I need that extra blade...???? Only professionals I know around here for that is Saay...

Re: Shocks

To be honest I reckon it might be the blades and shocks. I'll just go and count them front and back and let you know. The is definitely different than other vehicles, but this is my first SFA. Previously had a Lada and Discovery 1. Also regularly drove a Mazda Drifter.

Re: Seat Belts in a vehicle

Was in a serious car accident about 13 years ago. Yellow lane driver pulled in front of us. Rolled on tar and then did the old hop skip and jump through ditches. Was hanging from my safety belt as the car ended up sideways (and I was the passenger). Got out with only a cut, concussion and slight inj...

It seems the OME's on my SFA might be "moertoe". Well, maybe. I bought the vehicle with them installed but have an idea they are older than 3 years. So my question is: 1) Can OME's be serviced? 2) If the are moertoe, what Gabriel Safari's can I replace them with. I've heard people installi...

Re: Bro Speed conversions

The previous owner(or owner before that) of my bakkie decided that it was to expensive to do the pre-staging for the freeflow system. Needless to say I bought the bakkie with the branch having a hole size of my fist - cleverly disguised with gungum, half a beercan and some wire. And being cold the b...

Re: What seats??

Yes mine has got the bucket seats, but with the mechanisms being bust I'm doing the cape Town Pimp-my-Ride style and nearly lying down on the rear seat. Might be easier to get a bench seat? Then at least I can have the coolbox next to me!

What seats??

CookieMonster mentioned in a previous thread viewtopic.php?f=2&t=77 that the BMW 3 Series seats might fit like a glove. Has someone been brave enough to test it? And what year +- should I look for?
