Re: Loadbin differences SFA
Sort of answered my own question by finding that earlier post  The canopy is also not with me, but I suppose it will be possible to remove the alu cladding and modify the underlying frame to lengthen it by the required amount. Alternatively, one can possibly try to add a 'step' at the base, ma...

Re: Loadbin differences SFA
I dont have my van with me at the moment to take measurements, but I did find this earlier post regarding load-bin sizes...it looks like the canopy is going to be about 30mm short, as I have a mid-90's bin (1470mm length) and the van from which the canopy comes is an early 90's (1440mm). I have noti...

Hi Just a quick question for those in the know.... I have bought an aluminium canopy off a older Lux (not sure about the model year, but its the one with the vertical tail lights), for an absolute bargain. But now I need to know if it will fit on my Lux, which is a '94 with the horisontal lights at ...

Re: Rust, rust...and then some rust
OK, sorry for the delay but I've been away from my computer for a while and my phone cannot attach images. I managed to patch the rust outs...and I think it worked pretty well in the end. Ended up using the dremel to cut out most of the rust and to sand away surface rust before cleaning everything p...

Getting tyres from Netherlands to CT
Hello Does anybody have any experience with transporting large packages from the Netherlands to SA? I have a set of 5 31" Cooper STT's lying in the Netherlands that I need to get to CT...the set will prob cost me about R4000 for brand new tyres. I suspect it'll be difficult to fit those into a ...

Re: Malaria treatment ?
That Polysan sounds very interesting, never heard of it before...its always nice to find an alternative to the traditional poisons @george: I'm not sure about the northern 'burbs, but the one I'm aware of is in Claremont if I'm not mistaken, in the area around Cavendish. Maybe Mr. Google can help yo...

Re: Malaria treatment ?
Malaria is not to be triffled with...its a killer...and its very sneaky. If youre gonna visit an area considered as high risk you want to approach this in three ways: protection/prevention, chemo-prophylaxis and recognition of symptoms/treatment. To protect yourself anything from Tabard, impregnated...

Re: Rust, rust...and then some rust
@ Thys and MudDog...thanx for the feedback, it will surely save me a huge headache! Another issue with the location of the rust was the access is rather limited...I either have to bribe a 2 year old to get their tiny hands in there or I'm gonna have to enlarge the existing holes using a Dremel or si...

Rust, rust...and then some rust
Hello All My SFA has been leaking water from behind the dash (in the L and R footwells) for quite a while now, so a few days ago I decided to take the front fenders off and source the problem. I found a significant amount of rust in the water channel  that drains the water running into the gri...

Re: Can anybody suggest an auto electrician???
I surely hope that's not true.... :wth: ...though I suppose that would then possibly be the loom for the engines that were in the SFA originally (2.4 or 2.2), and not the 2.7 or 3RZ?? Did speak to one person from the stealers who gave me an estimate of R17k for a complete 3RZ loom...needless to say,...

Replacing rear side shaft seals...?
Hello Forum members I need to pick your brains...My '94 SFA is once again leaking oil onto the RR drum after I paid somebody R2.5k less than 10000k ago to replace the side shaft seal, most likely because pirate parts were used  Now I've decided to do it myself (with assistance from a friend wh...
