I removed the standard suspension from my 4.0 V6 at about 120 000km for a suspension upgrade. At that mileage the shocks are likely done but I guess the springs are still fine. To be collected in Durbanville if interested...

Some interesting observations...so at 100 km/h on speedo the GPS reads only 93 km/h so as expected the speedo is a bit optimistic. But....the odometer is actually very accurate. Thanks George, will get it tested but Andy may be right and its about to depart....

Not sure about sensor on aux battery as I am too dof to do this myself so had it done by Jos who does an excellent job of dual battery setups

Ha ha....under the hood where I know some people have had issues. I spoke to Jos who installed it and he said if its not giving problems do nothing; if it does then just move sensor inside. I am not having issues with the DC to DC charger so am going to leave it for now.

Thanks Thys....one last thing that has been bugging me is the link between speedometer and odometer....if speedo reads say 10% over is it then the case that the odometer also reads 10% over? I don't know to what extent they are connected.

I also have a 40l auxiliary tank between the chassis and spare that feeds into the main tank and I have not noticed any difference in the Consumption display. I have the additional 40L tank fitted above the spare and I am not sure how this affects the electronic fuel consumption calculations. I got he roof rack on :thumbup: I did not have time to fit the "wind deflectors" yesterday and I really hope they make a difference, it makes a hell of a noise and a vibration :think: The rack on the land cruiser did not make much of a noise. I'll put them on tonight. Sorry to hijack this...

Do you also do springs for the Fortuner that does not lift? I don't really need/want lift but need to replace shocks as they have done 120 000km now. I have been putting this off for a few months now but need to make a plan.

Mine a 2006 Fortuner and had it replaced at JBs about a month ago after the light came on. Whether mine falls into the recall category or not I am going to bug Toyota to reimburse me, at least for the part.

Thanks for the responses....yes I don't intend to load too heavy and rather the lighter bulky stuff. I will have to check on the maximum weight though as 50kg may be a bit restrictive. I would have liked to have my two 20L jerry cans on the roof

Some guys have been complaining about premature failure of that box in the 1HZ, many of them were vehicles that did not tow. But, as with all these things there are even more people who swear there is nothing wrong with the box

I am not sure if any of you have seen the thread on the Land Cruiser Club website where a number of people have raised the issue of problems with the R151F transmission that the 1HZ Cruisers come out with. I know absolutely nothing about mechanics but apparently this box is inferior to the H151F box...
