Stealer want almost R400 for a new one and they will not order it without a deposit which I feel is a bit ...

ARB Bumper rust - what options?

I need some advice please. I have an ARB bumper on the 99 Hilux. The bumper and underbody components are getting a bit rusty. I'd like to tackle the rust before it gets worse. So should I take the bumper off, sand it nicely and apply some good primer such as "coastcoat" and then paint it w...

Abs issues

So this what is happening. 2008 Toyota corolla. Sorry I know it is not a hilux but it should have a similar setup and I'm stuck far away from home. . At low speeds vehicle goes fine. Over 50km/h the left wheel starts making a clicking mechanical noise and the abs system engages. Break pedal goes sof...

IFA Hilux Rear lights and park lights not working

Hi there,

on my 99 Hilux I noticed that the park lights front and back do not work. Which fuse should I check?

None of them are marked rear light or park light?

Thanks!

IFS 99 FRONT IDLER ARM

So I bought the vehicle from Jack over a year back. When I took it last week for alignment they said the idler arm was worn. Looking back at this thread: http://www.hilux4x4.co.za/views/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6627" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and the invoices Jack includ...

Re: Circlip and Splined washer front right 2.7

Yeah I thought there must be quite a few lying around in various mechanics bits&pieces boxes :D: Anyways an Engineering firm, Allan and Sons did me one for R80. I got the cir-clip from the agents for R21. So it fits and I don't think the splines are totally necessary, the older Hilux's and Izuzu...

Re: Circlip and Splined washer front right 2.7

Sounds like a good plan! Thanks.

They can't do the splines - so it will just be a washer without splines, should do the job.

Circlip and Splined washer front right 2.7

So my mechanic is replacing the Front brakes etc and upon opening up the hub we found that the right hand side was missing the splined washer and circlip that prevent excessive movement of the driveshaft. Toyota says the washer does not come by itself - over R2000 for entire thing. What alternatives...

Hilux Key and Transponder Replacement

I have a 99 Hilux which was bought with only 1 ignition key and 1 Transponder. I tried to get a spare transponder but Toyota said that it had reached its limit and I would need to take the box out and have it reprogrammed. So I have two questions: 1. Would I be able to get a spare key along with the...

Re: Front HUB lock does not disengage

So I had what i think is the same problem. The right side hub lock did not want to disengage. There are around 6 nuts on the hub you need to undo. What has probably happened is that the spring has come off, so you are turning to "free" but the spring is not retracting the gear. Take it apr...
