Re: Water Tanks for Home

Hi Grant Your idea will work, but remember the following: It costs to fill the tank with municipal water - try to fill with rainwater, even if it's over a period of time. Better quality water in any case. Maybe put 1500l for starters and let the rain fill the rest. The pump will also use power - kee...

Re: Cataract surgery...

Never too late to change your mind! The eye is immobilised from the local and you couldn't move it even if you wanted to, so that shouldn't be a problem. Recovery from GA is also much longer. My 2c: speak to the Surgeon between cases and change to local - then you walk out of theatre on your own ste...

Re: Cataract surgery...

Why can't you have coffee?
The op is normally done with local anesthetic and/or sedation - are you having a General Anesthetic?
My patients eat a normal breakfast and are all done by 2:00pm! :blackeye:

Re: Cataract surgery...

Hi F_D

You'll be able to wear your spex until the 2nd eye is done - that's where the frustration starts.
Most often, depending on what the surgeon and you decided, you'll end up needing reading spex only - which means that you'll be able to drive and watch TV without spex!! :cooldude:

Hooter

Hi Guys. This may seem like an odd request, but here goes..... I'm looking for a new hooter for my Lux - something to wake up pedestrians and shake up taxis. I was thinking along the lines of a hooter that sounds like gunshots (?legal) or even that old type of "hooooHaaaaaa" hooter. I'm ti...

Alternator upgrade

I'm considering upgrading my alternator (KZ-TE) to help with charging the main battery as well as the auxillary battery in the loadbox and/or trailer. Does anyone have experience or advice in this regard?

Re: KZTE Security

Hi Thabo The KZ-TE does get knicked, my first was a 2003 model which I had for a week before it was stolen in the church yard in Centurion. I suspect they export them into Africa. That did not discourage me though cos I'm on my second one. I have a few tricks and relays to "beef" up secur...

Lights on buzzer

I saw a post on the Landcruiser forum regarding an inexpensive lights on buzzer:

A 12V buzzer fitted to fuses in fuse box : red wire to light fuse and black wire to guage fuse .

Would this also work for the Hilux? If so, what fuses does one attach the buzzer to?

Offroad trailer advice

I'm in the market for a basic offroad trailer with trailer tent. I have most of the equipment I need (note: not want) and don't need kitchen units etc. A light trailer with basic storage space for 2 biggies & 3 littlies is what I have in mind.
Any advice on what to consider or to avoid? 8 )

Headlamp globe replacement

I've heard that the headlamp globe can be replaced with one using less power but emitting more light - ?Osram halogen.
Can anybody "enlighten" me?
