Your rev counter is calibrated to read 4 pulses per revolution... as per 4 cylinder engine.. The V6 is sending 6 pulses per revolution.. There in lies the rub. You need to make some modifications to the rev counter. I cannot remember how the guys fixed it.. Speak to Allan Venter.. 0721291160

Hierdie probleem steek nou al hoe meer kop uit. Ek weet van heelwat (meer as 10) mense wat dit nou al oorgekom het.

Toyota reken jy moet die hele instrumente cluster vervang vir ongeveer R4500.. En dan n addisionele R2500 as jy die km lesing reg wil stel tot op jou bakkie se oorspronklike km's.

When I stop in my garage the radio automatically link up with my fibre wi-fi and I can download music, apps, movies, files or whatever I want onto the internal storage.. If needs be.. or even upload car/trip related data to my laptop.. No more need for loose DVD/CD's lying in the car getting damaged...

I have a a set of stainless steel KC Daylighters on both my Hilux and my Jeep. They can shine sh#t off a shovel.. They do cost some money, but they come with a 23 year guarantee. They even replace bulbs.. In my opinion, still the best I ever had on any of my cars.

I would also suggest replacing it sooner rather than later. If it rains on the way down, dusty/muddy water and muck will get in there, and mess the CV up, and it could mean that you end up stranded outside a small Karoo town where parts are not available. Something similar happened to us in Namibia ...

I have had the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) cut out and replaced by a straight pipe. Then I had the huge silencer cut out and replaced by a small freeflow box. The pipe still goes out the back as per normal. I have noticed a definite improvement in performance. Cannot say the fuel consumption is ...
