All sorted in the end.
Changed the regulator and belts for good measure, but turned out to be a bad connection somewhere just off the alternator.

Hi Guys I have to remove my alternator to replace the regulator. I am struggling to get the main wire off the back of the alternator. I takes a no10 spanner but cant seem to get it off. The wire just rotated around as I loosen the nut and I don't want to break the wire. Any advice? I am not sure if ...

This may seem trivial but does anyone have the dimensions of the bolt that holds the disc calipers on.
I need to get a new one (and a couple of spares). I have to drive the lux to the bolt shop but don't want to have to take another bolt out as a sample... if you get my understanding.

I think the standard batteries that the H7r came with are either 900ma 950ma... I don't have the torch with me unfortunately.

Okay word from the mechanic! he ran in the lot at 3500 rpm and did not run hot.... he took on the freeway and there the temp gauge went up! He stopped the car and ran around to feel the radiator pipes... they were fine and he was able to touch them! he noticed the car was pinking (pinging) its head ...

Silvertons replaced the radiator after I had put the head back on! I am sure they would have checked all that... should go back to the mech this week!
if there was a hair line crack in the block... would there be mayo oil water mix in the tappet cover!
the water in the bottle has dropped about an inch.... thought it would just be the air bubbles working them selves out

Possible corroded water pump.... surely that is the only thing left and may have caused the head to blow

i don't understand why I need to change and upgrade things if I have changed nothing to the engine and it has been working fine in the past! I have a brand new raditor, it has had spot lights for its entire life i have done lots of travelling in it before... why now would i need to start upgrading! ...

Thanks guys... i was using the coolant you must mix!!
Yes I lined up the head gasket holes ..... I am sure i did! the gasket only fits one way and on those "bails" i think!!
I didn't realise the radiator was so cheap! I think I will replace it just to be sure!
I still have a fixed fan!!

Alright the progress so far!! Drilled three two extra holes in the thermostat! This helped a bit, driving at slow speed around town everything was great! Hit the freeway or go up a hill and the temp gauge climbs to half way! i have fixed up some of the EFI problems and taken out the thermostat all t...

If I switch mine off after driving, where the needle is halfway (ish), then switch to the ON position it sits perfectly where it should!

As far as I know the whole St lucia system slopes backwards away from the sea.... so places like fannys island and charters in the northern section should start filling with water first!
