Re: Replacement bumper
Mark, thanks for the link, I like that bumper more, will try and built a mix between the two. Recovery points must be on the chassis right, not the bumper itself?
Sorry for the stupid questions, I am new to modifications on my bakkie.

Thanks Mark, I forgot about the recovery points. As for the open clad I want to close that with metal sheet and also put the spots there.

Replacement bumper
Hi, I am looking to built an replacement bumper for my hilux. I saw this pic of a bumper from the forum and was wondering if you guys have any tips for me to remember when building a replacement bumper. I am thinking of using 60mm steel pipe. Will it be sufficient or too heavy for the front end? I a...

Mine has 220 000km on the clock and has not had any engine trouble. Shocks changed twice and the clutch once as well as the propshaft at 214 000km. It is not a 4x4, but has done some offroading.

Mine has 220 000km on the clock, no engine trouble. No trouble actually to date except shocks. Its not a 4x4 though, but it has done some off-roading with 4x4's in the group.

Re: Opinion on 2000 4 x 2
Lee I own a 2000 2.7 dc with 218000km on the clock. There are no major services around 191000km as the 2.7 does not have a cam belt. If you are unsure check underneath the lux. The 2.7 have a tendency to leak at the oil seal between the clutch and gearbox at around 180000km. To fix is cheap, but the...

Verskoon asb maar my vraag as dit stupid is, maar ek sal raad graag wil he. Nou wil ek wee...

Change of plan, we are going to Landrover's 4x4 track on Sunday, will probably be a lot of guys. So meet us at 14:00 at the caltex garage opposite Pretty Garden in Langenhovenpark.
Apparently Landrover's track is very technical, would like to see if my 4x2 can conquer any obstacle.
Cheers

Re: Security devices
Guys, one of my friends in Bloem has a 2.4 SFA and his most effective security system to date is a 10mm metal plate that locks the pedals behind it. It is bolted to the bodywork and when open lies flat on the floor. He bought the SFA like that, so I dont know who did it, but in two attemps at steali...

Los daai 2.7 net soos hy is.
