Re: 22R To turbo or not to turbo, that is the question

To make a turbo modification work reliably you have to effectively start at the bottom end of the motor and move to the fuel tank replacing parts as you go. In this case you would need to change your compression ratio to something more turbo friendly, which in turn reduces power off boost, valves an...

When you are done testing pls put me on the list for my IFS, my FJ45 and my Patrol.... Stock headlights have candle power ratings in the single digits... ;-)

Re: E-locker won't engage

Hi Kujan.I think the 4x4 computer might be your problem.First check all the wires, from the computer to the locker, for continuity . A certain supplier left the 4x4 control unit (that controls the diff lock) in the rain during a conversion and it fried the ecu. My symptoms were the same as yours. G...

Re: Lokka for front diff

Can't go wrong with an ARB locker. Have front and rears in mine and could not be happier. The only possible downside is the pressure lines need to be protected from damage do placement is critical.

Re: Lexus getting hot

Bad news is that these motors don't like getting hot and regularly blow a gasket if they run hot. Good news is it's more economical to put another motor in than to repair an existing one. Overheating can be a couple of things: Check the intake manifold is firmly on and sealed- they run very hot if t...

Re: LEXUS V8 VVTI

Most/all FPRs that I have seen, had their returns to the tank/surge tank at the bottom and the inlet on the side but I suppose yours could be different - the manual should be very clear on that so check your manual first ? You are correct in saying return at the bottom and inlet on the side, I have...

Re: Boetamac wanna go Lexus

I have dropped both the dual vvti motor and the earlier dingle vvti 1UZ-FE motors into my Hilux and can say the dual Vvti motor is absolutely the better option, if you get the stock harness and ecu. Without the stock ecu the management of the motor is not easy to get right. The other issue to remove...

Re: WHAT Aftermarket Engine Management System??

Spitronics are by far the most configurable of the "lower cost" management solutions out there.
Dictator works, but is relatively dumb when it comes to detailed fueling and tends to deliver worse fuel consumption.
