Thanks guys. I wont do it then. That mentions blanking off the EGR with a plate.

I'm speaking of closing off the vacuum pipe that actuates the EGR. I suppose it will cause the same issue of the excess boost not being able to escape.

How does one go about cleaning the EGR?

Is the vehicle chipped? Is the exhaust system standard?

If the answer is yes and no, that could be the cause.

I fill till the first click / auto stop. Dont fill it full up. I dont think the amount varies as i consistently get the same amount off the tank. Other than in the case mentioned.
