To all at the event, thanks!!! It was a great day, and although I was only co-pilot in one of the Nissans, I have to say thanks to everyone that made the day possible. The hilux obstacle was great and we again got the chance to put faces to some of the names.
Well done to all

Re: Snorkel Intake
I really would not worry about the ram effect or lack thereof. If you work out how many liters of air your car ingests per minute, you would probably need a half meter wide intake at 60km/h to create enough ram. What your are really looking to do is to get colder and cleaner air into the engine. I w...

Re: Intercooler - top mount or front mount
Top mount should be easier and the piping is much less than running to the front of the car. Another factor is through the length of pipe to front mount, is the additional volume in the pipes. The turbo now also needs to pressurize this additional volume causing turbo lag. Downside is that without a...

I would also go with the "build it all over" option so you know your diff ratios are right. You can later install a diff lock if you need it. Or do the front end build and then match the rear with a gearmax diff loc. As mentioned, we don't know what the difference in ratios are. At least w...

I presume this is for a petrol engine. In the case of a diesel, the ultimate result of the blow-by is the replacement of the diesel inthe intake by this oil. Enough of it causes the engine to run away. It feeds it self with oil and uses it as a fuel. Not easy to to stop an engine like that once it s...
